Stars worldwide will be gearing up for Euro 2024 as it edges closer. Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Portugal has emerged as strong favorites for the title, with the side winning all eight qualifying games. They will, however, receive tough challenges from France and England. In a recent interview, one of Ronaldo’s former teammates decided to snub him as he named Kylian Mbappe, the potential Euro 2024 ‘Player of the Tournament’.

This is a surprising decision. While Mbappe has surely been in good touch, Cristiano Ronaldo has been the guiding light for Portugal, scoring the second-highest number of goals during the qualifiers. If the player continues to carry the momentum into the major tournament, Portugal could have a big chance at getting their hands on the title.

It seems like Cristiano Ronaldo’s former teammates are starting to turn their back on the superstar. In a recent clip, former Real Madrid star Wesley Sneijder snubbed Cristiano as he named French ace Kylian Mbappe as his pick in a top category.

When Sneijder was asked about his pick for the Euro Cup ‘Player of the Tournament’, the Dutchman showed no hesitation as he put ahead Kylian Mbappe. In a big surprise, Sneijder did not even select Portugal for the finals as he claimed that France would face England in the finals with the three lions taking the ‘W’.

Former Madrid star speaks on Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or win

Wesley Sneijder was present for an interview with the Egyptian channel Alhayah TV this week. The player during the interview commented on his Ballon d’Or snub back in 2010 with Lionel Messi getting his hands on the award. Sneijder stated, “It was a bit unfair that I wasn’t crowned with the 2010 Ballon d’Or and Messi won it. Although I’m not the guy who cries about it: the Ballon d’Or is an individual award, and what I prefer is to win collective trophies.”

He then added, “If I had to choose between the Champions League and the Ballon d’Or, I would choose the Champions League I won, I’m very happy with that title.”  While Sneijder had a great season in 2010 winning the Champions League title. Despite his heroics, however, the Dutch star failed to get his hands on the Ballon d’Or title.
