Sergio Aguero is making headlines but not for soccer reasons. The Argentine is in the spotlight for a joyous occasion as he and his pregnant girlfriend are expecting a baby girl. As the couple broke the news with ‘immense excitement‘, they received love from the soccer world, with big names like David de Gea and Neymar, sending their best wishes. 

This comes on the heels of a social media update shared by Sofi Calzetti in collaboration with Aguero, just hours ago. The picture includes the couple’s intertwined hands with a bouquet and 2 photos of the x-ray. Along with it, Calzetti wrote a caption that also revealed the gender of the baby. She wrote, “Emoción inmensa! Te estamos esperando hijita,” which translates to “Immense excitement! We’re waiting for you little girl,” and a red heart emoji. The Instagram post has not only garnered 1.2 million likes but also sparked an outpouring of love and well-wishes.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea commented with a ‘red heart emoji.’ Al Hilal’s Neymar also reacted to the news by liking the picture, with FC Barcelona’s midfielder Frenkie de Jong following suit. Interestingly, Aguero’s former club, Manchester City, posted 3 blue heart emojis, while the Argentina NT’s official handle posted a blue heart. The remaining thousands of comments are from ardent fans, renowned figures, friends, and family members.

Indeed, these heartwarming responses and messages must have brought delight to the couple’s faces. While this would be the first time that Calzetti would embrace parenthood, Aguero has already experienced it before.

Before meeting Calzetti, Sergio Aguero was married to the late Diego Maradona’s daughter, Giannina Maradona. The two tied the knot in 2008 and a year later, both welcomed their son, Benjamin. Born in Madrid, the grandson of the late Diego Maradona is currently 15. Aguero made his best pal and compatriot, Lionel Messi, the godfather of Benjamin. However, both Giannina and Aguero separated in 2012.

It was after the media extensively featured images of Aguero alongside the Argentine singer Karina Tejeda. Years later, he met Sofi Calzetti. However, a few months ago, the love rekindled between the two, and today both are starting a new chapter of life.
