Each day, new faces show up in the Middle East as Saudi Pro League sides continue to raid stars from the European market. In fact, they aren’t satisfied, as the league’s transfer boss wants more top players to join, including Kylian Mbappe.

Ever since Ronaldo’s big-money move, European stars seem to be open to the idea of moving to Saudi Arabia. Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, N’golo Kante, Roberto Firmino—the list goes on.

So far, the Middle Eastern clubs have spent an estimated $500 million. However, even after this, the league is hungry to add more stars. Notably, the SPL’s transfer chief, Michael Emenalo, is resolute to add more fuel to the domestic competition. As per the Daily Mail, he said, “I would love to have Mbappe here. I would love to have Harry Kane here. The league would like to have all the top players.”

Emenalo insists within the span of years, the SPL will become “a league for exceptional players,” and only those, who are at the “top of their game.” While flaunting that the country has all the resources, the former Chelsea director insists, “There’s always more business to be done.” He added that they are “open for surprises” and hinted that “something big” may happen as the domestic sides continue to improve their squads till the end of the transfer window.

I do feel they consider our presence to be disruptive.” Earlier, PL managers, including Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, both expressed their concerns over the exodus to the SPL; however, Emenalo cooled off their anxiety.

He reckons that the panic is due to “misunderstanding.” While expressing his admiration for Klopp and revealing Guardiola as his ‘good friend,’ Emenalo hopes that both managers “don’t talk themselves out of a job (in SPL) in the future.” Aside from understanding their concerns, he also expressed the league’s ultimate goal.

Saudi Arabia set to overtake the soccer

Aside from clearing the image of the Saudi Pro League, Emenalo also communicated the league’s and the Gulf country’s ultimate goal. The former Chelsea man insists their goal is to “work together” with all domestic leagues worldwide. They want to be a “brotherhood in football industry.” Indeed, his words indicate that Saudi Arabia is desperate to takeover the soccer world.
