Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo’s bromance caught much attraction during their days at Santiago Bernabeu. The duo have shared the stage on many occasions, always having each other’s back. Even after leaving Los Blancos, the two are achieving success on different continents. However, even after so many years, the Real Madrid chapters are still vivid in the mind of Marcelo. The Fluminense player shares a story about how Cristiano Ronaldo took a dig at the former FIFA president after his infuriating comment.

Hearing these stories, it might come as a surprise that Marcelo had a chance for a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo. But, he decided to move back to his home country and childhood club, Fluminense. Fluminense has won the Copa Libertadores for the first time in their history this year, making Marcelo the most decorated Los Blancos player with 25 titles.

Since leaving Real Madrid, Marcelo has gone through many chapters in life. The Brazilian soccer star joined Olympiacos after spending 15 years with Madrid. Reminiscing about the day that Sepp Blatter fired shots at Cristiano Ronaldo the duo decided to take a sweet revenge in their own way. As Marcelo gets candid, he shares the reason behind Ronaldo’s famous commander celebration against Sevilla in 2013.

Speaking to Bruno Cantarelli on his podcast ‘Charla Podcast’, the Brazilian international said, I said [to Cris] let’s have a celebration: we’ll hit here [their typical joint celebration], scream “SIUUUU” then we put the hand here [the commander gesture]. He made a mess of things that day.”

Marcelo added to share why all this happened in the first place, as he said, I forgot the guy’s name at the time, the FIFA president [Sepp Blatter]. He gave an interview saying that Cristiano was like a commander, that he was like that [does the commander gesture], like a general.” The iconic celebration sure raised the bar and is a smart dig at then FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

However, it’s amusing to know that even after sharing such beautiful times at the Bernebeau, the Brazilian international ditched Cristiano Ronaldo. Marcelo also spoke about what made him move to Brazil and rejected a dream move to Al Nassr.

Marcelo snubs Cristiano Ronaldo
