The amount of pressure Erling Haaland has been receiving is a lot. The Norwegian star is expected to do more for his club and country, even though he always scores. With the recent call on workload by Pep Guardiola, the national team coach clarified the ongoing speculation about Haaland’s injury. Haaland had a glitch in yesterday’s match that drew doubts about his medical situation.

Haaland came into the international break with a highly successful month of soccer. The striker scored important goals for his country. Coming to the national team, he was brought in in the second half of a friendly against the Faroe Islands. However, the 22-year-old was seen on the ground in pain during the game, which raised concern among the fans and the media. Responding to the talks, Oa Sand said, “He gets a little twist in his ankle, where he’s a little bit vulnerable. It hurts right away, and then it gives up pretty quickly.”

The doctor claimed it to be a spontaneous niggle when Haaland twisted his knee. He said that Haaland is quite susceptible with his ankle. But the relieving part is that the issue is spontaneous, where it hurts immediately and settles down quickly. The star will be assessed on the next day for the condition.

Haaland was brought in in the second half as the coach, Stale Solbakken, felt it was not worth playing him for the full duration. The game was friendly, and the coach said that playing the striker for 45 minutes was the best idea. There has been a lot of criticism from Pep Guardiola lately regarding the workload of the players.

Solbakken backs Haaland’s commitment

The Norway coach was also asked about Haaland’s commitment to the national team earlier. But Solbakken bashed such claims immediately, saying Haaland was the first person to be committed to the team. Despite a strong schedule, he will always be ready to play, said the coach.
