As the 2023/24 English Premier League season commences soon, teams are making moves in the transfer market. Arsenal sealed the deal with Declan Rice and aims to compete against Manchester City. Meanwhile, Liverpool bolstered their midfield after signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai and solved their issues. However, their rivals, Manchester United, still look to solve their striker conundrum. Although Rasmus Højlund is linked heavily with the club, United legend Wayne Rooney believes the soccer club should price away a $101 million star striker.

Tottenham Hotspur has kept Harry Kane for a long time, but the forward wants to move and win trophies. Spurs have struggled to find form, and Kane looks to depart from the club. Hence, the Red Devils remain a standout option for the stunning striker. And Rooney believes it is a match made in heaven! Yet, he had some rather interesting comments on Spurs’ reluctance to sell him.

In a recent interview with the Athletic, Rooney stated“And I think, as I said, Harry Kane would be the ideal player for me to go and join Manchester United. It looks like he’s being held as a prisoner at Tottenham. It looks very difficult for him to get out of there, but…” After Erling Haaland dominated the Premier League by scoring 36 goals, Kane had a terrific individual season by grabbing 30 goals. If the striker hadn’t racked up impressive numbers, Spurs would have been in troubled waters.

They finished eighth last season, and Rooney believes United, who improved under new manager Erik Ten Hag, would be contenders if they sign Kane. He continued, “Yeah, I think if Manchester United had Harry Kane, then I think that gives their chances of going to win and compete makes that a lot easier and better, so. But whether that happens remains to be seen.” The club currently needs a striker who can score tons of goals.
