According to Favian Renkel on X, he stated, “I think Messi recognizes what this team has been through even prior to him coming here.”

He continued, “He’s known that there’s been leadership, there’s been different leaders who have stepped up and Deandre has definitely served as one of our leaders this season, so for him to recognize that is huge. It shows that he is humble, he respects everyone on the team, so for him to do that, you know, goes to show you know how good of a teammate he is.” It became a moment to remember for David Beckham and his team lifting the coveted trophy.
