The Saudi Pro League clubs are making their inroads into the soccer scenario right now. They have some of the best players in the world who are in their prime. Cristiano Ronaldo became an asset to the league when he joined the Al Nassr. He became the poster boy of the team following his arrival. Yet, some changes are required for foreign players to join Saudi clubs. Like every league, there are other restrictions within the squad to register players.

It signifies that when Ronaldo entered, one foreign player had to step aside. And Vincent Aboubakar is unhappy about it, while Ronaldo tries to lure him to stay.

With Aboubakar already looking to leave the club, Ronaldo aimed to negotiate with the player to make him stay. Vincent stated“We talked a bit and his [Ronaldo’s] opinion was that he wanted me to stay. I told him no, that I will leave for family reasons.” He also mentioned how Ronaldo enquired about his family, residing in France, which influenced his decision. He now plays for Besiktas, which is in Turkey, and the country is close to France.

Ronaldo understood when Vincent mentioned his family as he remains a complete family man. He continued, “I left a little angry because it was not easy. When Cristiano arrived, [Al Nassr] coach Rudi Garcia called me into his office.” The club had options for other players to leave, like Jaloliddin Masharipov, who was from Uzbekistan. As a result of Ronaldo arriving at the club, the playing time factor would be an issue.

I said ‘no honestly president I prefer to leave.
