The arrival of Lionel Messi to the MLS caused excitement among the fans. They are excited to see the player arrive at Inter Miami and hopeful of more players joining the club in the future. However, the team lies in 15th place in the Eastern Conference, and reaching the playoffs would be a tall order. They have work ahead, and Messi will probably be ready by July 21st. On the other hand, there are other teams looking to grab a playoff spot, and one of them is Magic Johnson’s LAFC. They currently lie third in the Western Conference. In fact, soccer star player Carlos Vela is focused on that instead of joining the bandwagon.

While all the focus and attention went to Messi, Vela aims to win the title. In a recent interview, Vela gave a title warning to their rivals and wants the squad to focus thoroughly on that.

Notably, Vela was one of the first players in their prime to join from Europe to the MLS. He joined in 2018 from Real Sociedad and continues to play at the highest level. In the interview, Vela stated, “It’s great news for MLS ( Messi’s arrival ), but I still think that we are still the ones who want to win the title. It doesn’t matter who is on the other team. Plans don’t change.” Looking at the table, LAFC has a higher chance of winning the title than Inter Miami in the current season.
