The majority of the sports world is currently entangled in the ‘Day of the Reckoning.’ The prestigious MMA boxing event that took place in Riyadh’s Kingdom Arena, Saudi Arabia, saw revered boxers turn up in the ring. Among the luminaries who received an invitation to watch the fight was Cristiano Ronaldo. While fans are thrilled with his attendance, the Portuguese superstar was playfully mocked by England legend Rio Ferdinand for wearing shades inside the ‘dark’ ambience of the event. 

Ronaldo graced the event with his presence and was seated alongside the likes of Conor McGregor, boxing manager and promoter Frank Warren, Saudi chief Turki Alalshikh, and sports minister Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.

Just moments ago, Ronaldo posted a picture on Instagram of his appearance for the occasion. Donning a green Gucci jacket and giving a serious look in his shades, he wrote the caption, saying, “Taking sports to a whole new dimension. Unparalleled vision and execution. Can’t stop being amazed.” While the majority of the fanbase was praising the 38-year-old’s look, Ronaldo’s former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand cheekily taunted the star by commenting, “Hmmm….’it’s dark inside bro,'” with a stunned and laughing emoji. 

Indeed, it is quite a humorous comment from Ferdinand. Notably, the arena where boxers fight is already dark and is lit with floodlights. Hence, the former England international was forced to ridicule Ronaldo, who also brought Cristiano Jr. alongside him, for wearing shades. Nevertheless, Ferdinand’s comment must have made the Al Nassr star laugh. Speaking of funny instances, boxing promoter Frank Warren made Ronaldo go sideways with joyous laughter during the ongoing event.
