Former British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, once said, We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” Lionel Messi may be the greatest soccer player ever, but according to a French TV host’s recent comments, Messi remained indifferent towards charity work while in Paris.

The French media person suggests that the new Inter Miami star ignored his duty to give back to the community while at PSG. This is rather surprising because Messi is a UNICEF ambassador.

However, according to French TV host Thibaud Vezirian, Messi refused to partake in charity work while he was at PSG. Vezirian lauded former PSG star Neymar and current PSG players Kylian Mbappe and Marco Verrati for helping sick children by visiting hospitals in Paris. But Messi, surprisingly refused to be present for those off-field initiatives.

According to a tweet on X, Vezirian said, “Messi, last year, several times it was proposed to him, the answer some people would have received was only: ‘It’s not in my contract’.”

“It came as a shock in the hospitals, it came as a shock to some people, it came as a shock to others because it’s Messi. Today, he’s a great, great footballer, but a little man,” he added.

This is, perhaps, startling news. But according to several reports, Messi was not very happy in Paris. Something he has admitted since leaving France for America. Having moved to Miami, it seems the Argentine is not having a hard time adjusting to life in Florida.

It seems like there’s no stopping Messi at the moment. And maybe, he could go on to take Inter Miami to new heights in his stint at the MLS. Miami and Messi fans will also hope that he can win more silverware in America as his career inches toward its twilight.
