Unfortunately, the penalty served as a consolation, as Chicago Fire doubled their lead ten minutes later through Maren Haile-Selassie. Three minutes after that, in the 65th minute, Haile-Selassie completed a brace, extending Chicago’s lead. The goals didn’t stop for the home side as Shaqiri also secured a couple of goals. The referee’s final whistle spared Miami from further humiliation as the match ended 4-1.
