Klopp joined Liverpool in October 2015, and since then, the German boss has had to formulate a lot of strategies. The former Borussia Dortmund manager built the Reds from scratch with a moderate squad. Additionally, the manager did not have the luxury of spending huge chunks like the other big six clubs. Klopp with Liverpool has been regarded as having the least net spend compared to rivals, which is approximately $322.8 million.

Nevertheless, the 56-year-old succeeded in signing players like Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, who were instrumental in their league title campaign. The exiting Liverpool coach envisioned his title achievement immediately after arriving, but continuing it for more than nine years was too much for the boss to take.

Last season’s disappointment one of the main reasons for Klopp’s exit

Last season was one of the worst in Klopp’s tenure at Merseyside. Liverpool finished 5th in the Premier League. This meant that they could not qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since Jurgen Klopp joined. Hence, rebuilding this season might have added to the energy depletion that Klopp was talking about.

Klopp recently said, “I realized that my resources are not endless. I preferred to give absolutely everything to this season and then have a break or to stop.” Hence Burley has acknowledged and empathized with the German talisman.
