Luka Modric’s Move to Saudi Arabia Quashed by Real Madrid CEO, Days After 38YO Ditched David Beckham’s Inter Miami

Being at the top is constantly keeping up with the quality. Real Madrid over the past many decades has managed to keep its legacy, thanks to the quality of players it maintains. Luka Modric is one player who still keeps giving his best at 38. The Real Madrid midfielder rejected David Beckham’s offer a few weeks ago. Because of his mentality and precision, moves to Saudi and the US are always lurking at the doors of the Real Madrid star. Most recently, the Real Madrid CEO gave some clarity on the Croatian’s future at the club.

Real Madrid’s season has started like it always has. The club has been on the top of the La Liga table and hasn’t lost a match in this year’s Champions League. However, Modric could not contribute much to the team as yet. Does this mean the player’s time at the club is nearing an end?

Real Madrid, like any other team, is going through a player-transition phase. Its current generation of legends had a great last few years. But with players like Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio leaving, there is a doubt that Luka Modric could also move to another club. The club’s CEO, Jose Angel Sánchez, thinks otherwise and straightaway denies Modric’s move away, even to Saudi.

Fabrizio Romano quoted Jose, “Modric to Saudi in January? There are no negotiations on the part of Saudi League officials, to include Luka in January. We have no plans about his departure from the team at the present time.”

The Real Madrid management looks keen on keeping the club icon. However, the player doesn’t appear to be getting enough game time. The coach, Carlo Ancelotti, prefers him as a substitution than in the starting eleven. With the signing of Bellingham, the team’s preferences have possibly changed.

The Croatian is not satisfied with the Los Blancos camp at the moment. Modric recently revealed that he likes to keep on playing and contributing to the team. Even though the age is declining, the 38-year-old is still passionate about contributing much. Before the season, he also denied a lucrative offer from Saudi, claiming his interest in staying at Madrid.

Luka Modric denied David Beckham’s Inter Miami move

Saudi wasn’t the only place looking for Modric’s signature. After David Beckham’s summer holiday with Modric raised speculations, Modric denied any potential move to Inter Miami then. However, in a recent interview, he clearly mentioned that anything could be possible in January, keeping the age in mind.

Modric said, “There’s still plenty of time until winter and the end of the year. As I’ve mentioned many times, at my age, you can’t plan too far ahead”. The Croatian has been a tremendous asset for the 14-time Champions League winners. The 2018 World Cup Golden Ball winner has won five Champions League trophies at Madrid. Modric is undoubtedly a legend of Real Madrid, having won a remarkable 23 trophies with the club.
