In the ever-connected world of social media and instant communication, the likes of WhatsApp and Instagram are indispensable tools for many. But imagine not being able to use either of these apps just because you are in a different location. Well, Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al Nassr teammates may find themselves in a similar kind of situation. In fact, his rival club is going the extra mile and advocating for CR7 and teammates to get unlimited access.

After Ronaldo flew to his beloved Portugal for international duty, the 38-year-old returned early to join his domestic team, as he was forced to miss the match against his favorite opponents.

Next Tuesday, Al Nassr will be kicking off their first round of the AFC Champions League. The Jeddah-based side will be traveling to fellow Middle Eastern neighbors, Iran. There, the Roshan Saudi League side will be facing the hosts, Persepolis. However, all of Al Nassr’s players, coaches, and staff may have to face a bit of trouble. Apparently, the visitors might be forbidden from using the internet services due to the stringent restrictions enforced in Iran.

These local regulations severely limit internet access and prohibit several websites, including popular social networks like WhatsApp, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram. However, in a bid to circumvent the legal restrictions, the President of Persepolis, Reza Darvish, himself is going the extra mile to help Ronaldo and co. As per O Globo and translated by DeepL, Mr. Darvish said, “I spoke to the CEO of IranCell and asked that these players be able to have unrestricted access to the Internet while they are in our country.
