In a surprising turn of events, Drew McIntyre, a renowned WWE superstar also dipped his toes into this never-ending debate. Without any hesitation, he went on to swiftly snub La Pulga in favor of CR7. 

Despite the Argentine recently writing his name in the history books by winning his eighth Ballon d’Or, this WWE superstar didn’t have to think twice about his answer.

The popularity of Messi-Ronaldo is so great that even the question of who’s better among them often transcends the soccer world and manages to intrigue countless. Interestingly, a new and unexpected voice has joined the bandwagon from the world of WWE. Drew McIntyre didn’t hesitate to put forward Ronaldo as his answer.

While speaking to GOAL50, he said, “Pretty much everyone mixes them back and forth, who’s one who’s two. I’m gonna tell the actual answer right now. The actual answer is that number two is Messi, and one is Ronaldo. Sorry, that’s the truth”. As his unapologetic words suggest, McIntyre has joined Team Ronaldo and has given a cold shoulder to Messi while keeping him at two.

Earlier, John Cena had also expressed that when it comes to mentioning renowned football players, he would only single out Cristiano Ronaldo, both at the beginning and end of the list. Nevertheless, it seems the list of Ronaldo’s admirers continues to grow.

Meanwhile, aside from WWE, this question recently touched down in the world of boxing, where Anthony Joshua opted for a unique approach to conclusively resolve the enduring debate. A fantasy boxing match!

In a recent interview, Anthony Joshua was asked about his ideal contenders for a hypothetical fantasy fight. Presented with the opportunity to pick from a diverse array of fields, Joshua decided on a clash between the two soccer icons, Ronaldo and Messi. When questioned about the potential winner, he confidently declared, “Ronaldo”, following up with a nod to his admiration for both soccer veterans.

While further discussing the fantasy fight, he praised Messi’s vision and insisted that he could imagine La Pulga doing “bobbing and weaving angles.”  Then he concluded, “It’d be tough. They’re both as good as each other.” Indeed, it was quite an interesting hypothesis from Joshua!
