Last night Pep Guardiola remarked, “I will sleep better.” This was not in response to Manchester City’s narrow 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Rather, it was a reply to the news of Jurgen Klopp‘s future exit. The duo has been dominating the English Premier League for close to a decade and Guardiola will miss his most challenging rival. As a result, the Spaniard is hopeful of realizing his dream of having dinner with the German tactician soon and goes on to reveal information that not even Klopp has ever admitted!

Jurgen Klopp’s future departure news came as a surprise considering that he had a contract running until 2026. Besides Guardiola, the likes of Pochettino & Unai Emery also showered praise on the German as he now heads into the final months at Anfield.

While speaking to the media, Guardiola expressed his thoughts on the news bomb that was dropped yesterday. The Spaniard said, “He (Jurgen Klopp) will be missed. It was a shock like everyone. Jurgen Klopp himself agreed to this as his ‘running out of energy‘ was the main reason for his exit.

Jurgen Klopp said that he would not be returning to management in England and is not interested in making a U-turn on his decision. Moreover, he did not clarify whether he would return as a manager. Guardiola, however, had a different view of things and delivered the words Liverpool fans wanted to hear.

The Spaniard believes that Jurgen Klopp will be back as a manager. Pep Guardiola said, “Maybe it is an opinion he will not admit, but he will be back. I know it. Maybe in 10 years time. He may need to recharge his energy.” The reason stated by Pep was Klopp’s energy and personality. If Klopp indeed returns, where could he turn to?

Jurgen Klopp speaks only English & German and hence it is unlikely that he will manage in a league outside England or Germany. Considering his bond with Liverpool & Borussia Dortmund, the chances are extremely slim that he will take charge of another club side in those leagues. Klopp was once heavily linked to the German National Team and could this be next on his mind?
