At the moment, the top discussion among soccer fans, especially the Real Madrid supporters, is Kylian Mbappe. Reports have again surfaced that Los Blancos are going to approach him this January. But with Erling Haaland now seemingly part of the transfer saga, it has led to discussion on who would be the ideal signing for Real Madrid. Club legend Diego Lopez has now weighed in. He said, “Between the two, I’ll take Mbappé. He is a player who could contribute many things to Real Madrid, although there are already great players in his position, and I don’t know what will happen.”

According to reports, Real Madrid will make an offer to Mbappe in the first week of the January transfer window. It will be a contract proposal to sign him on a free transfer. The PSG star has not extended his contract with the French giants. This means he is free to discuss terms with a foreign club, as his contract expires next summer. Los Blancos has reportedly given him a deadline of 15 days to give his answer to the proposal.

It looks like the Mbappe transfer situation will soon be settled. But with respect to Erling Haaland, Los Blancos will have to play the waiting game on his future.

Erling Haaland’s future potentially hangs in balance at Manchester City

Erling Haaland has made a brilliant start to his career in Manchester City. He won a treble with the club in his first season, as well as the Gerrard Muller trophy. He has scored 71 goals in 75 appearances since joining the Cityzens. This has led to him being linked with a move to Real Madrid.

A transfer for Los Blancos would be difficult. This is because City will certainly demand a huge transfer fee. His secret release clause could also command a big fee. However, City could be forced to sell him if they are charged guilty in the Financial Fair Play case. Hence, Real Madrid will have to hope that Manchester City suffers a setback in the FFP case.

Real Madrid clearly want to bolster their attack by signing Mbappe or Haaland. With the attacking trio of Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo (known as BBC), they scored for fun, forming one of the most lethal attacking trios. Signing someone like Mbappe or Haaland to be a huge step to taking the club back to those days.
