It seems Rapinoe is happy with reports of Rubiales’ resignation. 

Megan Rapinoe bids farewell to “misogynist” Spanish FA boss

During the medal ceremony of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, Rubiales’ questionable act caught the eye of soccer fans. He grabbed Spanish player Jenni Hermoso and kissed her on the lips. After the ceremony, a video surfaced on social media where Hermoso was seen expressing how she didn’t like what Rubiales had done. There was an increased backlash from fans and players. The under-fire boss apologized for his behavior and asked Hermoso for a joint statement over the controversy. Meanwhile, the Spanish World Cup winner rejected the plea and released a statement calling for his resignation.

Above all, FIFA opened an investigation into the matter. Amid this saga, a report from Spain emerged on Thursday that Rubiales will resign on Friday. It was a win for the player, and Megan Rapinoe couldn’t resist bidding farewell over social media. The former USWNT superstar added a story to her Instagram, citing a report and captioned it, “And now you’re bye.” She further asked to “root ’em all out!”  The report comes hours after Rapinoe called out the Spanish Federation boss.

Rapinoe hits out at Luis Rubiales

Rapinoe gave an incredible interview for the first time after the World Cup. While addressing the picture of Rubiales grabbing his crotch after the final whistle, Rapinoe said, “signals such a deep level of misogyny and sexism in that federation and in that man.” She wasn’t happy at all with the behavior of the Spanish FA boss.
