Sadio Mane has been an astute piece of signing for Bayern Munich since last summer. Before that, he had a magical run for his club and country. Sadio Mane said, “I don’t want to give the impression of being a lecturer. But it is true that there are certain values circulating in football that bother me a bit based on my education. But, instead of criticising out loud, sometimes I prefer to distance myself a bit. The main thing is not to change, and I don’t think it has changed. And, for a boy who comes from a small town in Casamance, it is already a great victory to resist all that.”

During the talk, they asked the former Southampton star if he could live a life like Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar. To the question, he replied, “No! I follow them on social media and that’s enough for me. I love their extraordinary life, but that life is not made for me.” While he is one of the biggest stars in soccer, he didn’t forget to give back to his community. Mane was rewarded for his social initiatives last year.

Mane has done quite a lot of work for the community in his native country, Senegal. From building hospitals to funding schools, he has been a treasure for his country. He also played a huge role in Senegal’s fight against Covid, as he was one of the biggest donors in combatting the disease.

France football recognized his humanitarian efforts and the Senegal international was awarded the Socrates Award in October last year. He was the very first winner of this new award that France football gave for social initiatives taken by soccer stars. The star will continue to work for society and earn the fans’ respect and administration for his nature.
