Morgan always looked up to her two elder sisters

Alex Morgan has two elder sisters. Jennifer is six years elder than the USWNT star, while Jeri is four years elder than her. The Morgan trio has always been extremely competitive since Day 1. Everything between them was always a competition. The three of them always loved beating each other, even if it was a running race.

Morgan’s mother, Pam, once revealed that Morgan was always ‘an observer’ in the room. She always studied both her sisters and their decisions while growing up. Funnily enough, the USWNT legend wrote a letter to her mother stating her intentions to become a soccer player, just like one of her elder sisters, who wrote that she wants to become a model.

How Morgan’s family shaped her soccer career

Michael and Pam Morgan played a major role in beautifully shaping Alex Morgan’s career when it was at its nascent stage.

The USWNT star’s dad used to take his youngest daughter for soccer coaching several times a week. He was kind enough to drive all around the city and give her friends a free ride, too. He used to do that because he wanted Alex Morgan to have an entire soccer team to practice with.

At the age of 13, Morgan was doing quite well at her soccer practice. To award her for her passion, her dad took her to a sports goods shop and bought her the most expensive cleats in the market worth $320. It’s important to also note that Michael was also going through serious financial issues after his construction company almost went bankrupt.

Morgan’s mom has always been an encourager since Day 1. She had nicknamed her mother ‘Wonder Woman’. Pam started went back to college to pursue her MBA degree. She wanted to basically fund all of her daughter’s ambitions for becoming a professional soccer player.
