The whole world is in disbelief. The tragedy that struck Turkey and Syria had the whole world praying for the affected families. Thousands died and thousands lay injured as many lost their homes. Multiple shockwaves of powerful earthquakes hit Turkey a couple of days ago and the world is doing its best to get the country back on its feet. One such name, doing his part to send the tragedy struck nation some help, is soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo is currently in Saudi Arabia, much closer to the natural disaster.

The estimation of WHO puts the estimated death toll in the tens of thousands. However, amid the rescue operation removing the fallen buildings, the official toll stood at 5 thousand as of now. The government of Turkey has declared a state of emergency in the areas the Quake had the most impact. Many nations and personalities are coming forward to raise money to send to Turkey and Syria for humanitarian causes.

Cristiano Ronaldo came forward in an hour of need

A tweet by the former teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo put the light on the efforts to send donations to relief workers in the disaster struck areas. Merih Demiral has informed us that he has set up an auction to sell the Cristiano Ronaldo signed T-shirt he owned back from his Juventus days. The Atlanta Center-Back has informed us that he had a conversation with a former club mate for this auction.

The auction is live and according to his follow-up tweet; the auction has the highest bid of 14, 863 Euros at that point. He wrote that Cristiano Ronaldo felt sad about whatever was happening in Turkey. Many celebrities are coming up with ways to send humanitarian aid or donations to Turkey.

For Demiral, this tragedy is a lot closer to home than others. He debuted for the Turkish U 17 soccer team in 2014 and climbed his way up as he debuted for the national senior team in 2018.

Apart from the sports world, some E-sports and live stream entities are also doing their part in the cause. Notably, HASANABI has raised a significant amount that will help aid the people struck by the horrific earthquake. According to reports, HasanAbi raised around $630,000 within hours in his Turkey Charity stream on Twitch.
