However, despite her invaluable contributions, Megan Rapinoe was the target of multiple criticisms following USWNT’s exit from the recently concluded World Cup. Former US President Donald Trump, amongst many others, slammed Rapinoe for the team’s demise. Rapinoe, in a recent interview, shut down the recent criticism while talking about her love for the team.

Megan Rapinoe in an interview with the Atlantic, touched down on the recent criticism while talking about her memories with the team.

“Oh, man, the buzz around it—walking into these stadiums, the feeling that, on any given day, anything can happen. There’s just something that brings out the best in players, and in teams. And if you catch that little piece of fire, it’s just special.”

The duo miss no chance to take a shot at each other, with the former US President slamming Rapinoe for the team’s performance in the 2023 World Cup. Following the loss where Rapinoe missed her crucial penalty, Trump put on a lengthy tweet that saw him bash the player for missing the shot.

While Megan Rapinoe maintained her silence for a while. The player responded to constant criticisms as she mentioned that the lack of support made the team lose confidence.
