The ‘Xavi‘ dream is over. The legendary midfielder was expected to usher in a new era at FC Barcelona, reminiscent of their glory days from 2009 to 2015. However, the plan has not worked out and Xavi has announced his departure at the end of the season. New reports have surfaced linking Xavi to Inter Miami. Interestingly, this comes a few days after another prominent Barcelona star was linked with Lionel Messi & Co. Will we see a new coach for the Herons?

A key reason for Xavi leaving the Barcelona job was the pressure & toxicity associated with the role. The MLS doesn’t have the same level of global exposure or competitiveness in comparison to La Liga. Hence, a move would make sense from Xavi’s point of view.

Xavi could receive an ‘interesting offer’ to reunite with Lionel Messi

Javier Miguel from El Chiringuito de Jugones has key details regarding Xavi’s next move. He revealed on the show (translated via DeepL), “Xavi wants to stop for a year but there have been contacts with Inter Miami .” However, Xavi’s position is not absolute. Miguel added, ” If an interesting offer comes, he will accept it.” Xavi has always been vocal regarding his desire to coach Messi and an offer could be quite tempting!

Back in 2022, Xavi had labeled Lionel Messi as the best player in the world and said, “Who wouldn’t like to train him”. The comments came at a time when Messi was not at his best in PSG. Also, Xavi assumed managerial responsibilities at Barcelona following the Argentine’s exit. With La Pulga in the twilight of his career, Xavi doesn’t have much time left if he wants to fulfill his dream of being Messi’s coach.

With the likes of Suarez, Alba, Busquets, & Messi already in Miami, Roberto would find the transition to the MLS club quite easier than normal.
