Some people need high-emitting electrons around them to keep them going, anything less reduces their charge. Throughout his journey, Cristiano Ronaldo has been an ambitious athlete. And when the ambitions weren’t aligned with Manchester United’s goals, he was forced to exit and seek another playing abode. Even though the move out created different opinions, one person felt that he gave his all during his homecoming spell at Manchester United.

Ronaldo personally had a successful season in 2021-2022 but could not help United through to the Champions League. The subsequent season prior to the World Cup was when things started getting odd for him. His time at Old Trafford was summed up in a few words by one of the club’s former players.

Former player and assistant coach of Manchester United Mike Phelan, who worked very closely with Ronaldo had recently spoken about his second stint. He said that the striker does not compromise with his standards due to which he had to lose some people. Phelan said “He didn’t want his standards to drop, he wanted other people’s standards to come up. And sometimes you lose a few people along the way when that happens. I remember certain times when he pushed and pushed hard, and he didn’t get much reaction or much response. And there was frustration.”

He also said that the Portuguese skipper tried his best but did not get the needed intensity from other players, leading to his frustration.
