The French forward also finished in the third position in the Ballon d’Or rankings behind Erling Haaland and winner Lionel Messi. Amid all this, PSG manager Luis Enrique had maintained his silence on the verdict of Mbappe not winning a Ballon d’Or. However, suddenly during the press conference ahead of their match against Montpellier, Luis Enrique said Mbappe needs to do only one thing to win the prestigious trophy.

Luis Enrique speaking on the chances of Mbappe winning the Ballon d’Or next year said, “To win the Ballon d’Or, in addition to the individual contribution that he already has, you need trophies. We try to win as many as possible with PSG. A player of this level, when he also has success, has Ballons d’Or. It’s a certainty.”

PSG need to win the Champions League this season to convince Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe has continued his goalscoring form of the last season. The French forward has 12 goals and 1 assist in 12 games this season in all competitions. This means he currently has 1 goal contribution in every match till now. But, the issue is not with his lack of contributions. The PSG team needs to win games consistently in all the available competitions. However, there are some problems that happen like their winning and losing in Ligue 1 and also their poor performance in the 4-0 loss against Newcastle United in the Champions League.

If the rumors are true, Kylian Mbappe has already plans to move to Real Madrid in the next summer. But, PSG is also trying its best to extend its contract for the long-term future. However, Mbappe is not yet convinced to extend his contract. Therefore, it is clear that PSG will have to start winning trophies other than Ligue 1 to keep Mbappe at the club.
