‘This Guy Next to Me’: Kevin Durant Reveals Who Will Break His Team USA Scoring Record

Team USA Basketball is finally back on the right track. After cruising to a dominant win over the Czech Republic, the USA has earned yet another quarter-finals spot in Tokyo! And following the time since their loss to the French, Kevin Durant and co. have played with fire in their eyes, looking to perform at levels that characterize American dominance at the Olympics.
In their search for a 4-peat of sorts, it looks like the Americans have finally shown up to the party. KD, coming off a lone warrior-like playoff run, has all the talent he needs to take some weight off his shoulders as he chases an all-time personal milestone, along with his 3rd gold at these Olympics.
And while Durant just passed Carmelo Anthony as the all-time leading scorer for the United States Basketball in the Olympics, he has already placed his bets on Jayson Tatum as the next player to surpass his feat.

In what turned out to be a 35 point blowout, Kevin Durant led from the front with 23pts/9reb/6ast. And while it took a while to get the adrenaline pumping, Durant’s match seemed to ignite the fire. Tatum has been an integral part of Team USA, and likely will be their key piece in the near future.
