Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas clinched victory at the 2019 Azerbaijan GP, leading a 1-2. The Finnish driver fended off a huge challenge from teammate Lewis Hamilton for the win. Meanwhile, Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel finished in a lonely 3rd.

But during the race, something interesting popped up midway during the pitstop phase. As it turned out, Bottas’ first pit stop lasted around 2.8 seconds. Earlier, the Mercedes team were averaging 2.4s, like with Hamilton. However, commentator, Ted Kravitz noted the difference in the times.

He surmised that the team was going in blind and Bottas could possibly go to the end on the medium tyres. So, the team were doing what they figured was the right call.

He predicted that the tyre was a little slow and cost him around 0.4 seconds in the pits. That was when his co-commentators labelled him ‘a legend’.
