However, he pointed out that this democratic model does not extend to the independent Grand Slams.
“Obviously you have four independent entities. Maybe that’s to a certain extent an advantage because you just do things and you don’t have to ask everyone permission. On the other hand, if you look from a player perspective, say, I’m not represented, what about the compensation,” Gaudenzi explained, succinctly capturing the players’ fundamental concern about having no formal seat at the table for the sport’s most lucrative events.
