“Yeah, I did send him a message and we spoke. But, he said he was very busy and I understand,” replied Tsitsipas.

The 44-year-old Gustavo Kuerten is a former World No. 1 player and a 3-time French Open winner. Tsitsipas definitely wanted to take his guidance, as the former Brazilian player hasn’t coached anyone so far. After his retirement in 2008 from tennis, Kuerten only enjoys playing tennis at his home and teaching it to some youngsters.

Tsitsipas did realize that perhaps it was not the right time to approach Kuerten again. After all, he has a family now and Tsitsipas understood what the Brazilian’s priority actually was.

“He has a family. There are way more important things for him to take care of than my tennis,” concluded Tsitsipas with a laugh.

It would have been a deadly duo had Kuerten accepted the offer made by the Greek player to him. Fans can only hope that this will become a reality someday.

Right now, Tsitsipas has his focus on the Paris Bercy 2020. He is coming to the tournament after a close defeat against Grigor Dimitrov in the Round of 16 at the Vienna Open 2020. After a terrific performance at the French Open 2020, the level of expectations fans have is certainly high. The 22-year-old will also be eyeing to win the tournament and add another feather to his cap before the end of the 2020 tennis season.
