UFC 287: Jorge Masvidal Tells Joe Rogan He Has Retired With Special Donald Trump Message

UFC 287 saw one of the most anticipated bouts take place in the city of Miami. The city’s own featured in the co-main event for the ‘bragging rights of Miami’. Jorge Masvidal went head to head against Gilbert Burns and the fight promised so much to the fans. Burns looked to get some consistency since he is on a win-loss pattern in his last 5 fights. Masvidal, on the other hand, finds himself on a losing streak and wanted to end it by getting a win over ‘Durinho’.
All eyes from all the celebrities were on the co-main event of the evening. Masvidal and Burns both wanted to get closer to the title shot with a win at UFC 287. Masvidal could not secure a win and ultimately lost the fight in what turned out to be his last fight in professional MMA.

What happened in the co-main event of UFC 287?
Both fighters were cautious about throwing the strikes early in the first round. ‘Gamebred’ and ‘Durinho’ were throwing feints and patiently waiting for their moments. Both welterweights were searching for an opening all throughout round 1. Masvidal was slick whenever he threw his strikes. The crowd cheered for Masvidal as they sang his name.
Burns started the second round aggressively with some strikes. The Brazilian fighter also secured a takedown within a minute of round 2. ‘Durinho’ enjoyed ample ground control after securing the takedown as the Miami crowd jeered at the cost of the Brazilian. Masvidal later managed to scramble to his feet, only to be taken down by Burns. After a scramble again, Masvidal got back to his feet, and the round ended with both fighters throwing strikes.

Round three began as both fighters waited patiently to make a move. Burns landed a couple of good jabs on his opponent. Masvidal also landed some slick strikes on his opponent. Burns managed to land some big strikes later, which prompted ‘Gamebred’ to bait him. Masvidal was taken down with over a minute left in the round.
Both fighters showed massive respect toward each other after the fight. The judges scored the contest 30-27.30-27,29-28 in favor of Burns.
