There are a number of Russian fighters on the UFC 294 card. The promotional authorities are yet to get an event done on Russian soil. Instead, they have used the Etihad Area in Yas Island, UAE, as the home ground of the Russian fighters. However, the audience at UFC 294 will be up to witness an all-new Russian force inside the octagon. The fighter we’re talking about is Sharaputdin Magomedov.
‘Shara Bullet’ currently has a couple of similarities with the noted UFC icon, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Firstly, he hails from Dagestan, which is ‘The Eagle’s’ native place as well. Other than that, both haven’t tasted defeat in MMA yet. Apart from these similarities, there are stark differences as well. Magomedov doesn’t trust the grappling side of the fight game like Nurmagomedov did. So let’s take a deeper look at the upcoming UFC debutant to know a bit more about him.

There are a number of Dagestani fighters in the UFC who showcase a fighting style similar to ‘The Eagle’. But ‘Shara Bullet’ deals with his fights pretty differently. The fans who have watched his fights may know that the 29-year-old is a furious striker. The way he has finished his pro-MMA fights to date also bears good testimony to his superb in-cage striking skills.
A look at his record will reveal that ‘Shara Bullet’ has fought across multiple MMA promotions. He also holds an undefeated 11-0 record in them. However, even more impressive is the fact that he hasn’t depended on the judge’s cards for any except one. 10 finishes in eleven fights is in itself a superb record.

Well, we’ll start off with the unusual part of Magomedov. Despite his superb striking skills, Magomedov can’t see through his right eye. The Dagestani has talked about this himself in one of his interviews. He revealed that it was an accident at a Thailand-based training camp that caused an injury to his right eye. But he couldn’t save his eyesight despite multiple attempts. It started getting gradually depleted after that injury until he was completely blinded by the right eye.
Magomedov is also a controversial figure who has been involved in several incidents outside the cage. In January 2022, he allegedly assaulted a man who kissed his partner at a restaurant in Moscow. In May 2023, he kicked his opponent Jakub Bilko after losing a grappling match by heel hook at the ADCC Bangkok event. He was reportedly disqualified from the tournament for his unsportsmanlike conduct.
