Daniel Cormier on his YouTube channel, gave out some interesting sound bytes as he talked about a text conversation that he had with Jake Paul. While mentioning a possible Jake Paul appearance on the DC and RC show, Cormier called the Youtuber turned boxer a respectful guy while also comparing him to the likes of Israel Adesanya. The former UFC double champ also talked about Paul’s signing to PFL as a fighter. He stated his belief that ‘The Problem Child’ would eventually fight in MMA while also talking about the wrestling background of the Paul brothers.

Fans would be surprised that DC had great things to say about the former Disney star, considering they had a run-in during UFC 261.
Daniel Cormier talks about his conversation with Jake Paul
While talking about a text conversation that he had with ‘The Problem child’, Cormier claimed that the 25-year-old was respectful and had a clear idea of what he wanted.
DC states: “A couple of weeks ago jake paul and I were messaging each other about an appearance on my show DC and RC and we were going back and forth talking just kinda talking about his future and honestly, you know jake and I had some run-ins.”
Cormier further described how his conversation with ‘The Problem Child’ went, “But when I started talking to him and I’m messaging him, you know he’s a kid and he’s very respectful and we had respectful conversations. We didn’t argue, we didn’t fight. He has an idea of what he wants to do.”

He also emphasized the fact that Paul was respectful, yet verbal. “He’s very boisterous, he’s very verbal, he speaks big, but he’s respectful”
Interestingly, the former Olympian made a comparison that would surprise quite a few. He compared Jake Paul to Israel Adesanya on the lines that new fighters were ready to say anything to drum up interest.
Talking about the comparison, DC stated, “These kids today are different. It was like Adesanya with Jones. Whereas I would kinda hold back, Adesanya would say whatever it is he wanted to say about Jones. If that was an accusation, he would levy the accusation even if he hadn’t proven it true. That is what kids like Jake Paul do today. “

While talking about Jake’s signing to PFL; the 43 years old initially raised the question of whether the YouTube influencer would actually fight in the organization. He eventually stated that Paul would fight in MMA. He further gave the wrestling background of the Paul brothers as an argument to support his claim.
“Here’s the thing about Jake Paul, though. He’s from Ohio, wrestling hotbed. Ohio has some of the best high school wrestlers in the entire country..…. Jake paul was a high school wrestler so was his brother Logan. They weren’t bad.” expressed the former double champ.

It’s not surprising that DC would talk about Paul’s wrestling background. Considering DC built his MMA career off his world-class wrestling.

Cormier finally said that he believes that the younger Paul would end up competing with the smaller gloves; after his signing with the PFL.

“Although it seems as though Jake Paul does a lot of things to drum up interest. I believe this one he’ll actually fight.”
