McGregor is the highest-paid UFC athlete to date. He also earned a sizeable check from his crossover boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather. ‘The Notorious’ recently commented on one of his career-earnings statistics on Twitter.

Conor McGregor responds to the latest achievement

McGregor’s last outing was in July 2021 against Dustin Poirier. He lost the fight after snapping his leg at the end of the first round. However, ‘The Notorious‘ reportedly earned $33 million from his five-minute dance with Poirier. This means that the Irishman earned a million dollars in about nine seconds.

McGregor responded to this feat, saying, “9 seconds to a mill. And still, I’ve faster KO’s my record.” In comparison, Jake Paul took 1 minute 28 seconds, Fury 55 seconds, and Alvarez 43 seconds to hit the million mark.

The UFC’s first double champ does indeed have faster knockouts on his record. In fact, McGregor made his name through his quick knockouts of opponents.

Some of McGregor’s best knockouts

McGregor has what famed MMA coach Firas Zahabi called the ‘touch of death.’ His lethal left hand has put champions to sleep many times. The fastest of ‘Mystic Mac’s knockouts came in four seconds.

Back in 2011, Conor McGregor knocked out Patrick Doherty in the Immortal Fighting Championship. This one was very similar to the legendary Jose Aldo knockout. McGregor launched his piston of a left hand as his opponent came charging in.

McGregor’s 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo is arguably the best one in his career. Aldo had not tasted defeat for almost a decade until running into the Irishman. McGregor’s relentless trash talk riled up Aldo, who came charging in. ‘Mystic Mac’ wasted no time in shutting his lights out and delivering on his prediction of a first-round K.O.

In his return to action in early 2020, McGregor dispensed Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds to add another quicker finish to his name. The former ‘champ champ’ also holds first-round finishes over Dennis Siver, Marcus Brimage, Dustin Poirier, and Diego Brandao in the UFC.
