Floyd Mayweather is stepping inside the ring yet again for an exhibition bout against Japan’s Miruku Asakura. This is the boxer’s fifth exhibition bout and second in Japan. However, this one met with some criticism by a former UFC middleweight and MMA critic.

Chael Sonnen could easily go down in the history as one of the greatest trash-talkers of all time. The former UFC Middleweight holds nothing back when it came to thrashing the other person. Now, most recently, legendary pugilist Floyd Mayweather became a victim of Sonnen’s words.
Sonnen blamed Mayweather for fixing his exhibition fight in Japan. Furthermore, he believes that the boxer and his company are being dishonest with the product that is being put on.
Chael Sonnen calls Floyd Mayweather fight ‘scripted’
The 45-year-old boxing legend is set to return to the ring for his exhibition bout against, Mikuru Asakura which will be held in Japan. Chael Sonnen has come out questioning the legitimacy of the upcoming bout.
Sonnen said that ‘Money’ was exaggerating about his salary and they paid him less than what he [Mayweather] claims. Sonnen said, “Now, eight is a beautiful number. But he claimed he was getting 20. So I feel because I know the real number, that I can’t let it go. I must come to you guys. I have a journalistic obligation to come and inform you it’s actually $8 million, and he’s exaggerating.”

The American gangster further added, “Floyd’s going to go make $8 million to not actually compete with a guy who, if he did compete with, he would destroy in 30 seconds.” He then allegedly called the fight scripted.

“If Floyd can go in there and get $8 million for whatever that is, and he doesn’t have to work very hard, he doesn’t have to train at all because the script is on his side and they’ve already told him who’s going down and when isn’t that something I’d want to emulate?” Sonnen said.
Mayweather, on the other hand, told the critics after his exhibition bout with Logan Paul that he doesn’t care about people’s opinions. Moreover, he added that he will make money despite the naysayers calling his fights a hoax. Mayweather said, “When it comes to legalized bank robbery. I’m the best”
Money’s last boxing bout & post-retirement fights
‘Money’ announced his retirement from boxing in 2017 after he competed against UFC Megastar, Conor McGregor. There was heavy trash-talking going into the fight. However, Mayweather put forward a clinical performance and secured a 10th-round TKO victory against the Irishman.

Furthermore, the fight also proved to be one of the most lucrative bouts ever in the history of combat sports. It Amassed over 4 million PPV buys and Floyd Mayweather called it a career with an unblemished record of 50-0.

Since his retirement, ‘Pretty Boy’ has competed in several exhibition bouts. First against the undefeated Japanese kickboxer, Tenshin Nasukawa. The Japanese got absolutely decimated by Mayweather and got knocked in 2 minutes 20 seconds of the very first round.

Another bout saw The American boxer go against a much larger opponent in YouTube sensation, Logan Paul. The pair went eight rounds in a nonscoring exhibition match.
