“It’s not a question of if it should happen, a union. It’s a question of when it will happen,” he said. “Mixed martial arts, unfortunately, it’s a young sport. It’s still a new sport. I mean not as new as it was twenty years ago, but it’s still relatively young. Sooner or later it will happen,” GSP added.

Speaking of the harsh reality that fighters face, the Canadian said, “You only hear about the guys that made it like Conor McGregor, Khabib, Georges St-Pierre, who made a lot of money. We left the sport healthy and good. But the truth is for a lot of the guys, for 99.9% of the guys, it’s like a horror movie. It’s a bad ending.”
GSP was on board with Jake Paul‘s fighters union idea because he sympathized with the issues fighters faced. He gave props to Paul before the fight, as well as after his win.
