Jorge Masvidal has been a pioneer of MMA for almost two decades. UFC’s BMF debuted at the age of 18 and competed in reputed organizations like Bellator and Strikeforce before joining the UFC. 20 years removed from his debut, Masvidal recently opened up about how much longer he’ll compete and what goals he has left.

Masvidal has a pro record of 35-16. Besides winning the BMF belt, Masvidal also got two shots at UFC welterweight gold. However, he could not capitalize on those opportunities. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old still hasn’t given up and revealed his aspirations during a recent interview.
Jorge Masvidal reveals how much longer he will compete
Jorge ‘Gamebred‘ Masvidal is one of the biggest PPV stars in the UFC at the moment. ‘Street Jesus’ earned his credential over two decades of fighting and delivered many memorable moments in his career. His five-second flying knee knockout of Ben Askren shot him up the popularity ladder, earning him the BMF fight against Nate Diaz.

However, Masvidal has been on a three-fight skid since the BMF title victory. Following successive losses to Kamaru Usman for the title, he lost a grudge match against former teammate Colby Covington. ‘Gamebred’ has been out of action ever since and seems to have weighed his options. Speaking about his future in fighting, he said,
“I got a good 2-3 years in this sport where I can compete. But not compete and fight like those, I don’t know, like those Jake Paul guys… I want to fight like the world’s best, keep doing what I’ve been doing my whole career. Just fight either the biggest fights possible or the toughest fights possible… That’s what I signed up for when I was 18. That’s what I’m still doing, you know? Fighting the best of the best.”
There were talks of Masvidal fighting fellow welterweight Gilbert Burns. However, that fight fell through and Burns is now slated to fight Neil Magny in January. Masvidal also had a few words for Michael Chandler, who called him out after losing to Dustin Poirier.
