Israel Adesanya is one of the best fighters in the world right now. He is the current UFC middleweight title and has only lost once inside the octagon. His only loss in the promotion came when he moved up a weight class to challenge for the light heavyweight title. Otherwise, he has gone through every fighter in the middleweight division with relative ease.

In a recent interview, ‘The Last Stylebender’ was asked if his love for anime helped him in finding his path as a fighter. He said, “Yeah, definitely I feel so. Like I said, I loved watching anime because of the fight scenes. I loved the animation style, the drag, the poses, the flashes. Just the animation of certain fight scenes, I’m just like, that was beautifully done. And I wanted to recreate that in my own right because I love martial arts.”

“I love fighting. Like when I fought Anderson Silva, I think at the end of the first round, I threw a head kick. That would’ve hit most people, and Anderson Silva, at his age, was able to see it. He ducked and I hit the Rock Lee stance. That moment forever is iconic.”
