Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather was the biggest cross sport event in combat sports history. And recently it felt like fans might get to see part 2 of this amazing match-up. However, the Irishman lay waste to all fan expectations.
The reports came in that the pair would fight their rematch next year. The undefeated boxer told Daily Mail, “I want to go out there this weekend and have fun [against Mikuru Asakura]. Then I have another exhibition in Dubai in November and me and Conor McGregor in 2023.”

However, McGregor responded to the potential rematch and declined the offer made by Mayweather. The Notorious took to his social media to announce his dissent in boxing Mayweather. Moreover, he also threw a little shade at the ‘Money’ in another social media post of his.
Conor McGregor disrespects Floyd Mayweather via a social media post
On his social media post, McGregor posted a picture from their first fight where the Notorious can be seen landing an uppercut. McGregor covered Floyd Mayweather with a list of tags that included all the ventures the Irishman is associated with. The UFC fighter captioned the post, saying, “The cream catalogue. #mcgregorinc”
Right Before this post, McGregor had uploaded the same picture where he gave an explicit response to ‘Pretty Boy’ saying, “✌️ #notinterested”

The first fight between the pair did massive numbers, despite that McGregor has declined to compete again with Mayweather. At first, it was unclear why the former UFC double champ would say no to such a lucrative bout, however, his ‘deleted’ tweet gave a little clarity.
Boxing editor Michael Benson revealed in his tweet how much Mayweather will make out of his exhibition bout against Mikuru Asakura. The tweet said, “Floyd Mayweather has said he will make $15million-$20million for his exhibition fight with Mikuru Asakura in Japan this weekend: “It’s cool. Nine minutes, $ 20 million, not bad.” [@MailSport]
The reason why McGregor declined the fight offer
McGregor’s response to this post shed some light on his decision to decline the fight. He said, “He also said he made 100m to spar the Logan guy yet never made the Forbes list top 100.”
