Ciryl Gane will be fighting in his third championship fight in Dana White’s promotion. He is set to appear at UFC 285 against the returning Jon Jones. The former interim heavyweight champion has lost only one fight in his entire MMA career. The loss came against former UFC fighter, Francis Ngannou.

Ciryl Gane (MMA record of 11 wins and 1 loss) currently tops the rankings for UFC’s heavyweight fighters. Despite weighing more than 240 pounds, he exhibits remarkable reflexes and speed. Moreover, his UFC 285 opponent Jon Jones also recognizes the threat posed by Ciryl Gane for their upcoming bout.

Until he faced ‘The Predator’ at UFC 270, Bon Gamin had never lost. Although he lost by unanimous decision, Gane still felt he needed a change. UFC recently released an article about the French fighter, where he opened up on his only MMA defeat.

Ciryl Gane talks about UFC 270 loss

‘Bon gamin’ had a lot of time to look back at his loss to Francis Ngannou over a year ago. He claims that before that loss, he only fought to be happy, which also makes him dangerous. Gane said, “Before Francis (Ngannou), I was just a young guy, fighting just to be happy.” He added, “I am still like that, which I think is really important …A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter.” His focus is now on the championship after maturing over time.

Ciryl Gane was successful in restoring his winning ways after defeating Tai Tuivasa in his home country of France, which he headlined. He mentions how important the win was for his MMA career. Gane said, “After Francis, after I lost, it was very important to get a win and we did, so that’s why I am really happy.” His family and friends, as well as the support of the home crowd, motivated him to win.

Gane also believes that he had achieved a lot already before his UFC 270 loss. That loss gave him a lot of experience and maturity.’Bon Gamin’ said, “You know my background is in Muay Thai and then I switched to MMA and in all of that time, I never had a loss.” He added, “This has given me a lot of experience, and more maturity when I am going to the gym and when I talk about the future of my career with my coach.
