BJJ GOAT Gordon Ryan launched an assault on his critics who dug up various reference videos to discredit him. The American grappler, who boasts of an illustrious resume, confronted the naysayers when they tried to snatch the credit from him and referred Jon Jones and Nate Diaz as the ‘inventors’.

The tussle between him and his belittlers started when he extended a congratulatory message to Michael Malott about using his invented ‘high wrist’ variation of the guillotine and, therefore, picking an impressive victory. Also, ‘The King’ issued a challenge to his critics to unearth a video that could prove otherwise. “Not a single one could reference any video footage of someone else submitting anyone with a high wrist guillotine,” he said.

While the faultfinders tried their best and found some strikingly similar videos, Ryan busted those and called them “idiot”.

Not only did he list his credentials, but he also emphasized he was right. He stated, “Because I’m literally the greatest no-gi competitor of all time that ever lived ever in the history of the universe. So, I’m right, you are wrong and that’s just how it is.”

Following this, he took on specific cases and burst them one by one. He showed the mirror to his critics as he pointed out, “Everyone is like, ‘Oh Jon Jones did it’, no, Jon Jones did a power guillotine. ‘Oh, Cody McKenzie did it. Nope, that was a different guillotine. ‘Oh, Nate Diaz finished Tony Ferguson like that’. No, he didn’t. That was a different guillotine.”

While Ryan appeared to cede some ground on the possibility that maybe he didn’t invent the ‘high wrist’ variation of the guillotine, he stressed he was sure of hitting the said variation first.

Lastly, he hit back at the comments that called him an idiot. The 5-time ADCC World Champion reverted with biting remarks, “And everyone referencing all these different matches, like ‘oh you are an idiot’, like ‘it was done here before’. No, you are an idiot because that was a different guillotine.”

Ryan is currently focusing on his recovery after giving his fans an update on his health condition. The BJJ ace was barely recognizable after an extended period of hospitalization left him “half dead”.
