His journey to winning is largely attributed to the legacy MMA training gym, the Chute Boxe. Charles Oliveira joined the gym in 2018 after severing ties with the Macaco Gold Team gym. Oliveira trained under the guidance of coach Diego Lima, who has a reputation for making winners from variably nothing. Heavyweight UFC names such as Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua, Cris Cyborg, and Anderson Silva were also members of this gym.
