UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje undoubtedly sits atop the list of most entertaining and violent fighters to have ever graced the sport. The American’s highlights consist of devastating KOs and exchanges that even puts the best of names to shame. But just like any other human, Gaethje too feels the pressure of facing elite opponents who could be as dangerous as the 34-year-old himself is.
Sharing one such moment from his stunning UFC career, ‘The Highlight’ made an interesting revelation about his mentality ahead of big fights. While retweeting one of his epic KOs that also earned him the Fight of the night, fans of the lightweight contender couldn’t help but heap praise on Gaethje.

Fans go berserk after Justin Gaethje shares epic KO from 2019
2019 saw Justin Gaethje headline two big events. While he did go on to win both, it was his bout against Edson Barboza that seemed to have left a deeper impact on him. Exactly four years following that fight, the former interim champ shared the final moments from the fight while also disclosing his fears of facing the Brazilian.
He tweeted, “One of the few times I’ve been scared walking into a fight was against Barboza. Watching him body people was definitely in the back of my mind.”

Considering that Barboza was indeed one of the best strikers to have stepped into the octagon, Gaethje’s fears were definitely not unfounded.
Reacting to the tweet, fans of the American took taken a trip down memory lane as they recalled the leg kicks that both fighters traded during the fight.

Gaethje KOs Edson Barboza in the first round 4 years ago to win the Fight of the Night.
In what was a highly awaited match-up between two extremely dangerous strikers, Gaethje went on to beat Barboza in the first round after the duo tested each other in a quick but entertaining fight. Trading heavy leg strikes, the fight went on to the halfway mark of the first round before the American landed a right-hand flush, knocking out Barboza.
The fact that a fight that didn’t go beyond the first round ended up winning the Fight of the Night just showed how impressive the duo was during the short duration of the bout.

For now, fans can only hope that Justin Gaethje continues to deliver the same level of entertainment that he has been providing as he moves into the latter stages of his MMA career.
