Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya took to Twitter to reveal his latest face tattoo. The 33-year-old revealed the tattoo in a dramatic fashion over a famous Malcolm X quote. The tattoo which means dragon in Arabic is one of the latest among many for the New Zealander.

The caption and the voice-over that Adesanya used were a reference to civil activist Malcolm X. The late African American leader has also incidentally been in the news of late owing to Disney’s announcement of a new series on him.

Israel Adesanya reveals Arabic face tattoo
The tattoo is one among many that Adesanya has got recently. Apart from the Arabic one he also got a neck tattoo and one below his eye. The former middleweight champ has got quite a few anime tattoos as well and it’s not surprising considering that he is an ardent anime fan.
Adesanya took the dramatic route while revealing the eyebrow tattoo, as he chose to have an audio of Malcolm X’s famous quote over the video.

The quote by the activist was: “I’m a man who believes that I died 20 years ago. And I live like a man who is dead already. I have no fear whatsoever of anybody or anything.”

Disney series on Malcolm X to start shooting soon
Malcolm X has definitely had a profound influence all over the globe and not just on African Americans particularly. Adesanya must have also been influenced by the leader’s teachings somewhere along his life for him to choose the quote. Also, the fact that Malcolm X has been in the news of late could have inspired the former champion in referencing the leader.

While there have been many films and shows made on Malcolm X, Disney+ is all set to start shooting for an all-new series on the leader. The production has announced that filming will be done in Macon, Georgia on January 30th and 31st.

Adesanya’s tattoo revelation clearly showed the influence that Malcolm X continues to have over different generations of people. With the new Disney series also in the works it looks like Adesanya clearly has a great sense of timing, just like his striking.
