More bad news for the West Lynn gangster Chael Sonnen as he faces a new lawsuit in the alleged incident in Las Vegas. Last December, Sonnen allegedly got into a scuffle at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas. Some of the victims of the incident pressed charges against the MMA analyst and the case is currently ongoing. However, Sonnen is now facing a fresh lawsuit as a former Four Seasons employee elected to press charges.

While the authorities dropped the initial felony charge and some of the misdemeanor charges, this recent development will be yet another hurdle for the MMA fan favorite.

Chael Sonnen faces a new civil lawsuit in the Las Vegas incident

According to reports, a Four Seasons employee named Joshua Olds filed a civil complaint against Chael Sonnen on December 8 in Clark County for assault and battery. However, the lawsuit involves certain unnamed individuals along with Sonnen and the Four Seasons itself for negligence.

Olds claimed that the 45-year-old Sonnen punched him in the jaw during an altercation. In his version of things, one of Sonnen’s guests initiated the physical altercation with Olds, who was a maintenance man at the Four Seasons at that time. The three-time UFC title challenger then joined the fray and punched Olds.

The incident in question went down in December last year. In March 2022, the prosecutors charged Sonnen with 10 misdemeanor counts of battery and one felony charge of battery by strangulation. In an amended complaint, the prosecutors dropped the felony charge and two misdemeanor charges.

Status of Sonnen’s Las Vegas legal troubles

Currently, Chael Sonnen is facing four counts of misdemeanor battery charges in the incident at the Las Vegas hotel. The alleged incident involved five victims. Although he was not arrested, Sonnen was facing multiple counts of battery after some of the alleged victims pressed charges.

Two of them, Christopher and Julie Stellpflug, had previously filed civil lawsuits against the former UFC and Bellator star. They alleged Sonnen punched both of them and choked Christopher Stellpflug. The pair also claimed that an intoxicated Sonnen instigated the brawl by knocking a drink out of his hand.

They also stated that Sonnen allegedly fought another guest and several security guards who came to the scene. Both of the Stellpflugs said they suffered concussions and Julie Stellpflug had a split lip following the altercation.
