Joe Rogan opens up about how he got into martial arts
Joe Rogan said on his podcast, “I was bullied like most people. I did not know how to fight. I was scared. And I was like ‘I need to learn how to fight. And I joined a martial arts school and I just got obsessed. with it.”

Furthermore, the UFC commentator added that he was a big fan of Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris. The UFC commentator said that it was intriguing for him to see and practice more martial arts moves as they were ‘amazing’. He also explained how he then got into kickboxing and narrated an incident at a Red Socks game.

Adding to the story of how he grew interested in the world of martial arts, Joe Rogan had some words for his mentor. Moreover, Rogan narrated that he saw his mentor for the first time after returning from the baseball game. He added, “I watched this guy John Lee who was the national champion, who was training for the world cup. So it’s his peak of training. And he was doing a spinning back kick over and over again into this heavy bag.” The UFC commentator also revealed about his mentor who got him ‘hooked’ on our favorite sport.

The UFC commentator mentioned some details about his mentor. He said, “And this guy who was like this wild street guy from Chelsea, Massachusets who was elite Taekwando.” Furthermore, he added, “He wasn’t like bow. He was like ‘What’s up man? What the f* you’ve been doing man?’ He was a funny dude, he would eat food before he fought ‘I’ll f** these people’. He was a street guy who’s really good at martial arts.”

Speaking on the subject, the former fear factor host added, “But in that moment when I saw him, he was 27 years old, he was in the prime of his career and he was an elite of the elite… I got hooked… I went there the next day, signed up, and went there every single day.” Furthermore, Joe Rogan declared in the podcast, “I became obsessed.”
