“Conor McGregor Also Lives This Big Life”- Daniel Cormier Compares Conor McGregor’s Lifestyle to WWE Legend Ric Flair

Former two-division UFC champion, Daniel Cormier reacted to the recent altercation between Conor McGregor and Machine Gun Kelly at the VMAs. While this is not the first time McGregor has been involved in such instances outside the Octagon, DC is worried that McGregor’s gimmick has taken over his true persona.
Cormier also compared McGregor with WWE legend Ric Flair. ‘Nature Boy’ had a larger-than-life personality and played a role whenever he performed in a ring. However, he transcended that character into his own personality and lived a reckless life. DC believes McGregor has been doing the same for a while now.

“You know what the crazy thing about McGregor is? When I say the gimmick, I mean the billionaire, the strut, fancy cars, and the money. Because, the reality is it’s in the WWE. You get a character. The character could be Vince McMahon,” said Cormier.
“When Ric Flair is Ric Flair, styling and profiling, kiss the girls and make them cry, Woo! All that stuff. But when Ric Flair would hit the curtain in the back, he never stopped. He continued to live as Ric Flair. And ultimately that was his undoing,” he added.

“That’s why at 60 or so, Ric Flair is still wrestling. Because he has made so much money, he was living such a reckless life, it wasn’t sustainable. Conor McGregor is the fighter. But Conor McGregor also lives this big life. That’s when I ask, has that gimmick taken over who Conor McGregor is as a person?”

Conor McGregor detailed his recovery from injury
McGregor is still recovering from the freak leg break he suffered at his UFC 264 fight against Dustin Poirier. That hasn’t stopped him from getting into trouble. Nevertheless, it was a gruesome injury he had to deal with in his trilogy fight against Poirier. He has revealed that he had to go through a lot to cope up with the setback, but he is recovering very well indeed.
The Irish superstar is not expected to make a return till the latter half of 2022. Who he faces once he is fit remains to be seen. Although, some have amusingly suggested that MGK be his tune-up fight before an Octagon return.
