Conor McGregor and his ambitious return has never been less anticipated. That’s right, after months of no confirmation, it would appear as if both, McGregor and his fans are slowly losing hope. He was expected to come back at UFC 300 at first. Unfortunately, everyone’s expectations came crashing down soon enough.

Soon, he’d declare a return on June 29th. However, that return date was also rejected quickly by Dana White and now, rumors of a bout against Manny Pacquiao are in the air. Will McGregor return anytime soon? He has hopes! In a recent Q&A session on his Instagram handle, the fighter responded to a fan asking whether or not he’ll come back.

“Still holding hope for June 29th. Lack of action on it however is causing lack of enthusiasm. I need a decision soon. I am the most talented athlete in this new regime. Yet no date to fight. The game is a bit lackluster also at present which isn’t helping. I hope these next few cards pop and I get a date. Eliminate distractions and begin real work towards it.”

So, what’s really going on? This isn’t the first time McGregor has complained about not finding a date. When he was first seen sitting next to Ronaldo at a major boxing event, the Irishman could be heard speaking about how the UFC wasn’t really giving him anything to go on with.

At the time, his beef with Manny Pacquaio was big because of a legal battle between the boxer and McGregor’s management team. Will Conor McGregor actually lean towards a boxing match rather than coming back to the UFC? That could upset a rather invested Michael Chandler.

Now, months and months later, there’s still no word. Chandler was first certain that the delays were all part of elaborate mind games that McGregor and his team were playing on him. However, now that the former double division champ is claiming delays on the promotion’s side, what hope can Chandler hold out?
