Conor McGregor has recently received a threat from Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz. The infamous UFC manager said how he would like to see Justin Gaethje destroy Conor McGregor in the octagon and put him in a “wheelchair”. While the Irish fighter has been away from the sport because of his leg injury, it hasn’t stopped him from picking fights online. And the one with Abdelaziz is not surprising.

A recent podcast video on the official channel of Michael Bisping, an ex-UFC champion, featuring the experienced UFC fighter Anthony Smith, talked about some latest UFC news. In the video, they also discussed the recent news of Abdelaziz calling out McGregor to fight Gaethje.

What exactly did Abdelaziz say about Conor McGregor?

To put forward Abdelaziz’s words, they read out the famous manager’s tweet, “I’d like to see Justin Gaethje destroy Conor McGregor, put him in a wheelchair, I’d love to see that… he (McGregor) doesn’t like tough fights anymore… he’s probably not going to fight Justin Gaethje.”

Abdelaziz began with a confident threat that he was sure how Justin Gaethje could absolutely destroy Conor McGregor. He goes on to insult The Notorious’ and challenges him to fight Justin Gaethje by the end of this call-out.

McGregor and Abdelaziz have previously engaged in a number of disputes. The main reason for their rivalry could be the fact that Conor McGregor has very famously fought Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Anthony Smith and Michael Bisping’s take on the news

In the podcast, Bisping and Smith, two fighters well-versed with UFC and its technicalities, discussed their thoughts regarding the call-out.

Bisping asked, “Justin Gaethje – Conor McGregor.’The Notorious’ comeback fight, what do you think about that?”

Smith replied, “love that… it’s a tough fight for both guys.”

Smith went ahead with explaining the technicalities of how both the fighters, McGregor and Gaethje, counter each other’s traits. Where the Irishman is not good at dealing with kicks, Gaethje is a kicker; while the latter has been beat-up a lot, McGregor is good at beating. This is why, according to Smith, it’s a “50-50 coin flip”.

Can we expect to see the fight between McGregor and Gaethje?

As explained by Michael Bisping, this is a smart call-out by Ali Abdelaziz as a manager. He wants his fighters to be in all the big fights and he knows how to do so. But considering the fact that Conor McGregor has been underground and training to change his weight category, it is not set whether fans will see this fight.
