Meanwhile, most of the questions surrounded his potential matchup with the UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev. However, one reporter asked the Aussie, “you offered to welcome him [McGregor] but is that a possibility do you think? Down the line.”

Volkanovski replied, “Yeah, look it is. Everyone’s always gonna talk about Conor and oh, you always want that money fight. Yeah, of course. Everyone’s gonna talk about that. It’s big, it’s massive. Any fight that you have with Conor is gonna be massive. So we’re not stupid. We understand that.”

Volkanovski additionally said, “I’ve talked about the things I wanna accomplish. You know, you got featherweight GOAT, pound-for-pounds, whatever it is. All that type of stuff… I’ve taken down every other featherweight champion, except for him… obviously, he can’t fight at featherweight, but he’ll fight at lightweight and there could be an opportunity there.”
